Our children’s homes:
Are welcoming, homely, and domestic spaces.
Provide group living as well as private space.
Are clean, safe, and well maintained.
Are designed to meet children and young people’s day to day needs and physical necessities.
Are adapted where needed to meet young people’s physical health needs, or other.
Encourage the development of independent skills, as well as learning and study skills.
Promote and do not restrict liberty of movement.
Are well thought out. Care plans consider how the home space is used so that there are boundaries for unsafe behaviour.
Provide accessibility that enables children to express their views.
