It gives us great pleasure to announce that we have joined the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN). We believe that this organisation is important to maintaining the high standards of care we expect, and wanted to tell you a little more about it.
The Restraint Reduction Network
The Restraint Reduction Network is a programme designed to encourage care providers to use methods of diffusing situations that do not resort to restraints.
Every organisation that joins the RRN do so in order to demonstrate their commitment to reducing restrictive practice. We are no different. By joining this group, organisations gain the opportunity to learn from sector leaders.
Our Pledge
Now we have joined the Restraint Reduction Network, we have created a pledge. This promise, made up of three priorities, refers to the work we will do to meet the standards outlined by the RRN.
Priority 1
Our first priority is to deliver high quality Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training to all of out staff. In service of this, we will also be implementing PBS coaches in our school and every one of our care homes.
Priority 2
Next, we will be working to enable a group of people we support to join a forum that will act as a steering group, influencing practice and policy.
Priority 3
Finally, we will be working to improve our processes around reflective supervision and post-incident debriefing.

At Bright Futures Care, we are always working towards an end goal of helping our residents and students in the safest, most productive way possible.
We believe that joining with the Restraint Reduction Networks will allow us to do this. Caring for individuals with complex needs is a complicated task, but with the help of like-minded care providers in the RRN, we can make it as positive as possible.
