As autumn takes hold and the Great British Bake Off is back on our televisions. It is once again time for communities to come together to support the great work that Macmillan does with the annual coffee morning.
We are invested in giving back to the communities that we live and work in. Also to nurture this charitable nature in the people that we support.
Willow Tree School
On a slightly chilly Friday morning, the air at Willow Tree School was filled with the tempting smell of baked goods, and the anticipation of the people queuing to donate for the delicious cakes and treats. All of the bake sale was made by our talented colleagues and family members.
With a great mix of colleagues from our schools, homes, and head office, joining the families of the people we support, there was a wonderful atmosphere. Lots of happy people were enjoying a sweet treat amidst great company. This was the first time family members had been able to attend the event, which made it even more special.
Our students played an active part in the coffee morning by serving cakes, taking orders for hot drinks and doing the washing up! It was also a lovely opportunity to meet with our students. To see them really enjoying both helping out for charity and enjoying the school environment was perfect.
Money Raised
Willow Tree raised an incredible £280 at the coffee morning! This again proved how generous and committed our colleagues and students are to supporting charities and the local community.
