Celebrating Success at the Great British Care Awards

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news!

On Saturday 9th November, some of our team took to the red carpet at the North West Great British Care Awards. We were shortlisted as finalists in 3 categories, and we are so excited to share that we not only won the Frontline Leader Award but also received a “Highly Commended” recognition in the Putting People First Award category.

The Great British Care Awards celebrate excellence across the Social Care sector, shining a spotlight on both individuals and teams who go above and beyond to provide exceptional care and make a difference to the lives of others each and every day. The awards bring together the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors, as well as unpaid carers to bring the sector together and celebrate their contributions.

Being recognised as part of these awards is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment of our entire team here at Bright Futures. It reflects the hard work we put in every day to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support.

Here is what the judges had to say:

Ellie Murphy, Registered Manager at one of our adult homes was crowned winner of the Frontline Leaners Award in the North West Regional category, with the judges writing:

“Ellie is not just an exceptional frontline leader; she is a true rising star in her field. Her passionate discourse about the impactful work she has accomplished in her service left a lasting impression. I was particularly moved by the unwavering dedication and compassion she demonstrates toward those she supports. The individuals in her care are in excellent hands.”

Mel Dean, Registered Manager at one of our adult homes received Highly Commended for the Putting People First category, with the judges writing:

“Committed to fostering choice and decision-making, ensuring individuals have control over their lives. This approach promotes autonomy, and it is clear that Mel places the people she supports at the heart of everything she does. Through a person-centered, co-production model, she empowers adults to make their own choices, while nurturing their unique interests and aspirations.”

A huge congratulations to all the winners from across the categories, it was great to attend the awards evening and hear the stories of so many wonderful contributions within the sector. You can read the full list of winners here

As a winner of the regional award, we now progress to the National Finals for the Frontline Leader Award, revealed in March 2025!
