We’re entering the final stages of development for our new Elm Fields Campus, an extension to the current Ash Meadow School. This new development will soon create 54 new specialist school places for students ages 5-19 looking for (SEN) provision across St Helens.
Housed in the former Clock Face Hotel, the building has been creatively redeveloped into a bright, accessible, and welcoming school environment. The additional campus will build on the success and ethos of our Ash Meadow School – located just round the corner, expanding our education offer for children and young people with autism and learning disabilities.
Awaiting OFSTED inspection and due to open its doors in September 2025, the Elm Fields Campus has been developed to respond to growing local demand for high-quality specialist provision.
Final touches underway
Building work is now nearing completion. It has been extended to include additional specialist learning spaces, lifts have been installed for full accessibility, and the playground equipment is in place – including a sunken trampoline and basket swing to support sensory and physical development.
The building will soon be handed over to our Education Team, who will carefully prepare it with educational resources, therapeutic tools, and everything needed to inspire joy, curiosity, and growth in its new students.
To celebrate the campus’ upcoming opening, we’re hosting an open event for local residents, families, and local authorities to visit the site, meet the team, and find out more about Ash Meadows’ person-centred education approach.

Continuing Community Commitment
Bright Futures’ mission has always been about working in partnership with families and professionals to promote independence and personalised outcomes for every individual we provide support and education to. The Elm Fields campus will continue the strong communities ties that Ash Meadow School already prides itself on – working with local organisations, offering training and outreach to mainstream schools, and equipping students with life skills and work experience that prepare them for the future.
As a nod to the local community, we have also set the clock on the front elevation of the building to 18 minutes past one to reflect the time on the famous Clock Face Crisps from the late 1960s.
“Seeing Elm Fields come to life has been incredibly rewarding, we’ve transformed a valued community space into something that will serve the area for generations to come – a place filled with opportunity, purpose, and pride.”
Vicky Tijani, Headteacher of Ash Meadow School
