Each year, Big Thank You Day gives us a dedicated moment to recognise the people who make everything we do possible. It’s about celebrating the individuals across our organisation, those delivering care and education, as well as those supporting behind the scenes, who collectively help create positive, meaningful experiences for the people we support. Every colleague at Bright Futures makes a difference with the work we do, and Big Thank You Day is a chance for us to appreciate them for the impact they have.
As our organisation continues to expand, Big Thank You Day plays an increasingly important role in bringing us together. It’s a chance to recognise and appreciate every team member, while reinforcing the values that connect us across all areas of our work. No matter the role our teams have, this day helps ensure our shared principles are not only upheld but felt consistently across every site.
At its heart, the day is about recognising the commitment, kindness, and teamwork shown by our colleagues. Their efforts help ensure that the people who live and learn with us feel respected, supported, and able to make the most of every opportunity. The impact they have goes far beyond day-to-day responsibilities, shaping environments where people can truly thrive.
Celebrations took place across all of our locations, each one reflecting the spirit of the teams involved. From thoughtful gestures like poems written by the people we support, to surprise treats such as a visiting coffee van at one of our Bright Futures Schools, teams came together to mark the occasion. There were shared meals, small tokens of appreciation, team activities, and moments set aside simply to say thank you.
While every site celebrates in its own way, one tradition has remained since Big Thank You Day first began in 2023. Each location receives a cake delivery, along with a handwritten card from line managers and a gift for every colleague. This year, teams were gifted a branded jute bag with a motivational quote to remind them of the impact they make every day.
