Ash Meadow School: Strong Ofsted Outcome as Capacity Expands to Support More Pupils

Ash Meadow's Impressive Ofsted Review

We’re delighted to share the fantastic outcome of our Ash Meadow School’s recent Ofsted inspection. Based in St Helens, the school added an additional 54 spaces for students with autism and learning disabilities in September 2025 so this was their first inspection since the expansion and covering two campus locations.

Inspectors recognised the school’s strengths across key areas, including safeguarding, behaviour and personal development, highlighting that “classrooms are purposeful spaces for learning’ where ‘staff expertly help pupils to become increasingly independent in regulating their own emotions and behaviour’.

Under the new Ofsted rating system, Ash Meadow performed at a Strong Standard in 2 areas; Personal Development and Wellbeing and Attendance and Behaviour. Inspectors said: “Leaders dedicate attention to establishing positive relationships during transition periods into the school, which help pupils to settle in well and turn the tide on school attendance,”, praising their swift and proactive approach in collaboration with external partners to support improvement in attendance.

Ash Meadow also met the Expected Standard in 4 areas: Achievement, Curriculum and Teaching, Inclusion and Leadership and Governance. Here Ash Meadow were praised for the individual pathways they create for students, supporting them to achieve milestones suited to their own personal stage of development.

Throughout the report, Ash Meadow’s support from the very start of students’ transition into the school is celebrated. Their collaborative approach with external partners, families and support teams help to “gain a clear understanding of pupils’ individual needs and previous experiences of school,” has allowed them to improve experiences and behaviours of students both at school and at home.

A huge congratulations to everyone at Ash Meadow for their continued hard work and commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for pupils!
